Mission

Chronicler is a team member first org that puts credit where it's due

We do this by creating games from innovative storytelling technology (whether machine-learning, new visual techniques, or custom tooling) that inspire the art and story - and vice-versa.

Our Core Values

Kindness

Toxic people and traits have no place at Chronicler.

Drive & Discipline

We're life-long learners who believe in shipping games.

Quality & Delivery

Careful eye for detail is only superseded by good prioritization.

Sustainability

Every team member is in charge of making sure we stay healthy long-term.

Communication

Emphasize saying sorry when we're wrong and celebrating achievements.

Diversity

We cannot do everything there is to be done by ourselves.

Passion

Passion attracts passion and keeps team culture positive.

Inclusivity

You belong on our team

We need other people with their own experiences and perspectives to help us build things our players love. People with different backgrounds than our own.

Well Being

We actively prevent crunch

Crunch, i.e. not getting enough rest, is unacceptable. While we won’t be babysitting anyone’s time, we have core rules to prevent burnout.

Our 20%/20%/20% rule

20% of all production time is planned for time off and scope issues, and an additional 20% for polish.  Scope reduction is our go-to tool.

Culture

Setting the New Standard

Turns out diverse and creative adults can craft amazing things together when people communicate well with each other. It all starts with leadership and setting the right policies.

Learn the art form

Study everything from game design to anatomy, all on the clock.

Be creative together

Benefits

We support your productivity, career, and health

Our career incentives are designed around creating a healthier more creative studio with every milestone. No one is alone in their career path, wherever it leads.

Creative and Support Leadership

Career paths for multiple different types of growth.

Acknowledging wins

It's a team win and your choice on how to celebrate.

Tenure & Severance

We support goals and lifestyles changing over the course of your career.

Minimum vacation

35 days or more per year, no ifs, ands, or buts. Rest, recharge, and perform at your best.

T-Shaped Development

We want Chronicler to be a place you retire at, where you become part of the tenured, extended support team.

Growth & Improvement

What we're working towards

Our goal is to create amazing games without compromising our core values. That means acknowledging what we're striving to improve.

Improving training & education

We’re partnering with colleges like Digi-Pen to train students and develop beneficial internship programs.

Summer Internships

Hiring

Building a team of unicorns means spending a lot of time head hunting. We’re looking outside of the typical game dev pool, hiring parents, modders, and experts from other industries.
